StreamElements and Rainmaker.gg report that thanks to the coronavirus pandemic Twitch and Facebook Gaming continue to break their own viewing records.
In January 2023, Twitch users watched over 2 billion hours of live streaming, up 117% over January 2023 (941 million hours). According to this indicator, the last month was the most successful in the history of the platform.
Facebook Gaming, in turn, surpassed the 439 million hour mark, up 118% from last January (201 million hours).
Just Chatting remains the most popular category on Twitch (242 million hours), and the largest monthly increase in views was shown by Rust (+ 1226% to 189 million hours), which took second place in the overall chart, but is the leader among games.
