Every year, the popularity of products Nintendo growing in Russia. This is evidenced not only by periodically appearing reports from leading retailers, but also by the financial statements of the company. According to the official statisticsfor 2019 Nintendo Russia earned 1.6 billion rubles – this is the largest indicator in the history of its work.
For comparison, in 2018, the company’s revenue in Russia amounted to 1.4 billion rubles, and in 2017 – 1.3 billion rubles. The main driver of sales is the console Nintendo switch and games for her.
As shown in the graph above, before Switch arrived, the company’s revenue was several times more modest – Wii U and Nintendo 3DS taken together brought no more than 100-200 million rubles a year. Figures according to Rosstat.
As for net profit, Russia Nintendo began to receive it only after the start of Switch – the first plus was recorded only at the end of 2019.
The chart below shows that a year before the company spent a record amount of money, and progress from 2018 to 2019 amounted to as much as 271 million rubles (from -263 million in 2018 to +8 million in 2019).
In March, the group M.Video Eldorado reportedthat in 2019, games for the Nintendo Switch “showed the highest dynamics among all platforms” and for the first time by the share of sales in monetary terms bypassed the Xbox One. March start of Animal Crossing: New Horizons was a record.
