Runs Nearly Smoothly: Monster Hunter Rise’s Nintendo Switch Technical Features Revealed

Channel specialists VG Tech studied the demo version Monster hunter rise and established that the role-playing action for Nintendo Switch works at 540p (960×540) for portable and 756p (1344×756) for stationary. In this case, the interface is rendered in native 720p and 1080p, respectively.

As for the frame rate, as the counter in the video shows, the game demonstrates stable 30FPS most of the time, sometimes dropping by 1-3 frames – this mainly happens in battles.

Based on comments on Reddit and ResetEra, it seemed to many fans that Monster Hunter Rise was working more stable than Monster Hunter World in the PlayStation 4 version worked at launch in 2018.

The demo as a whole collects mostly positive feedback from fans. Users write that in a portable format, Monster Hunter Rise is better than many games from Nintendo itself for the Switch, and praise Capcom for the optimization.

Monster Hunter Rise is built on the RE Engine. The project will debut simultaneously around the world on March 26, 2023.
