Conflict around the studio Lucasfilm, which continues to generate many scandals, seems to be approaching the denouement that fans are waiting for. Interesting information with a link to its insiders shared the famous YouTube channel about the movie Midnight’s edge. Its authors have repeatedly published rumors, which eventually proved to be true, but they still urge viewers to be skeptical.
Last week Gamemag reported that the series about the Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi got into production hell. Head of Lucasfilm Studio Kathleen Kennedy was unhappy with the draft scripts for the two episodes that the scriptwriter prepared Hussein Amini. Allegedly, the story was too much reminiscent of what viewers could watch in the series “Mandaloretz”
As a result, it was decided to postpone the start of filming from mid-2020 to the beginning of 2023 and disband the film crew assembled in London. Apparently, Amini is no longer involved in the project, and the script intended to be reworked so as to reduce the series from six episodes to four.
The situation again perfectly demonstrated the incompetence of Kennedy, who at the same time manages to openly lie in public. During the announcement of the series at the exhibition D23 In 2019, a top manager claimed that the scripts for ALL episodes were completed, and the studio was supposedly preparing for the shoot. Believe that Lucasfilm management noticed a problem with the story at such a late stage of work (actor Ewan McGregor already been involved in test shoots), quite difficult.
According to Midnight’s Edge, this scandal may be the last straw, followed by a change of leadership Lucasfilm. Kathleen Kennedy’s contract was extended until 2023, but insiders say the top manager will vacate his chair ahead of schedule, which Disney will officially announce in the coming months. But sources at Midnight’s Edge reported that the director Deborah Chow and other persons in charge of the series received letters stating that in the near future they were waiting for completely new projects.
