At the beginning of the year, a rumor appeared in the network that some time ago the company Konami started looking for developers to revive Silent hill and seems to have settled on two new titles. Then it was reported that one of them should be a restart, and the other – an anthology or episodic game.
The source who talked about this, and another informant who was not connected with it, confirmed to the resource Riely on horror information that Masahiro Ito, creature designer for the first four games of the series, really working on the new Silent Hillas previously thought. At the same time, these same sources call Sony as the “driving force” for the return of the franchise as an exclusive Playstation 5, although the latter is only an assumption.
The first source, which the site trusts well, adds that Keiichiro Toyama, development manager and screenwriter of the original 1999 Silent Hill, and Akira Yamaoka, the composer of most parts of the series, is also returning to work on a new game along with Masahiro Ito. The trio will spearhead a soft reboot of Silent Hill, which may be called so – simply “Silent Hill”. It is reported that fully or partially engaged in development SIE Japan Studiowhich may include team members Project sirenstanding behind the horror Siren: Blood Curse for PlayStation 3. A source claims that the project has been under development for about a year.
The second franchise title mentioned in the January rumor may be the same Silent Hills Hideo Kojima.
