Return Orient became one of the surprises E3 2017, over time, turning into one of those projects that fade into the background against the backdrop of powerful blockbusters, but are nevertheless perceived with enthusiasm by loyal players.
Aware of the level of expectation Moon studios I tried to keep the formula that my fans loved, diluting it with new and sometimes unexpected mechanics, and at the same time throwing a plot bridge between the end of the original story and the beginning Ori and the Will of the Wisps.
Rescuing the Nibelle Forest from the forces of evil, the luminous spirit of Ori, along with friends of Naru and Gumo, is trying to teach a young owl to fly. These funny and very bright moments in the prologue set up the player in a lyrical manner, accompanying the story with the changing seasons and warm moments of a real family of fairy-tale creatures. But the first flight outside the magic grove breaks off at the time of a terrible storm and now Ori has to pass difficult tests to find his best friend.
Using the formula of metro-diving, the developers immerse you in a new world where dark forces dominate, destroying the lights of forest spirits, distorting good animals and the surrounding nature. Starting his journey without any skills, Ori gradually acquires new abilities.
An awkwardly picked up torch helps disperse the darkness or drive away the sinister wolf, but after a few minutes the main character becomes the owner of a lightsaber and double jump.
New abilities grow like a snowball, giving you the ability to stick to surfaces, shoot with light arrows, intercept shells and soar in the air. You find important skills for the plot in the luminous hollows of trees, and the remaining fragments, such as defensive magic or pumping energy into health, can be bought from numerous merchants.
They can also improve your characteristics, increase health, energy or upgrade one of the already acquired skills.
However, all the same, except for improving skills, can be obtained simply by well exploring the environment and solving simple puzzles.
