Concluding to consider the budget line HONOR, about which GameMAG.ru began to tell at the beginning of the year, we got to HONOR 9A, which takes the middle ground between HONOR 9C and HONOR 9X… The price of the device in the official HONOR store is 10 990 rubles… We are already analyzing the retail version of the device.
PACKAGING AND DELIVERY
HONOR 9A comes in a thick white cardboard box in the traditional manufacturer’s style. The phone itself is in a transparent bag, and a protective film is immediately applied to its screen. The package also contains a paper clip and a 10W charger.
APPEARANCE
The HONOR 9A looks very stylish for a budget solution. Smooth lines, behind a glass cover with a fingerprint scanner, the smartphone lies pleasantly in the hand. Unlock by face is supported.
The bottom of the device houses a speaker, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an outdated microUSB port. The HONOR 9A has an embedded NFC chip. You can expand the base memory via the microSD slot.
On the front of the screen is a drop-shaped notch for the camera. The screen area is about 90%. The device weighs 185 g and is 9.04 mm thick. General proportions – 159.07 x 74.06 x 9.04 mm. The body is solid under pressure. There is no backlash.

The smartphone comes with a 5000mWh rechargeable Li-poly battery that promises about three days of moderate use on a single charge.
The maximum warming up of the battery and processor during games was 26 ° C, in normal mode – 23 ° C. The HONOR 9A does not have fast charging. Complete from scratch takes two hours.
The device uses the 10th version of Android with Magic UI 3.0.1. Inside the HONOR 9A there is a MediaTek Helio MT6762R processor, made using a 12nm process. It has been in production since 2018 for budget solutions and does not get very hot.
The smartphone has 3 GB of RAM, 1346 MB available. The total memory is 64 gigabytes.
The IPS-screen works with a resolution of 720 x 1600. The pixel density is 278 dpi, the refresh rate is 60 Hz. The working size of the display is 66 x 146mm. There is no PWM.
The smartphone is equipped with two cameras. Front – 8 MP (3264 x 2448), focal length is 2.77 mm. Rear – 13 MP (4160 x 3120) in photo mode, focal length – 3.62 mm. The camera is classified as medium. In low light conditions, noise is noticeable, the picture is often blurred, and there is not enough optical stabilization. But basic – this quality of pictures will do for Instagram. All defects can be seen in the photographs.
With games, everything is acceptable. They take a long time to load, low details are noticeable, and the same Asphalt 9: Legends sometimes slows down.
Our site opens perfectly in mobile mode, it is useful and pleasant to read it as always, which I repeat in all my reviews. Surfing the net is convenient. Movies and videos run smoothly. The sound is acceptable for a budget smartphone.
The HONOR 9A has the same problems – the lack of Google Play and other Google services. The AppGallery store has significantly less choice. Some applications from alternative sources do not load or do not work. And of course the microUSB connector in 2023 is a disappointment.
Otherwise, the HONOR 9A is a very stylish phone with a glass cover that doesn’t look like budget counterparts. It is a pleasure to hold in your hands and can last up to three days on a single charge. Which is just a huge plus.
