For players who are fond of multiplayer projects, it is important that the mouse works out quickly, accurately and efficiently every ruble spent. This is especially true for expensive models that offer quality switches and sensors. But what if your “gamer rodent” practically does not breathe and is about to leave this mortal world, and you have only 1000 rubles in your pocket? Here the company comes to the rescue HIPER, in the catalog of which there is a fairly inexpensive gaming device – a wired gaming mouse HIPER GM-2 ROBO, the official price of which is 990 rubles. It was she who recently entered our test.
COMPLETE SET AND APPEARANCE
HIPER GM-2 ROBO comes in a box with a large mouse image and a listing of the main features on the front. Inside it is packed in a blister casing, and is also protected from all sides by a cardboard form. The kit includes instructions with a warranty card. The stated manufacturer’s warranty is 1 year from the date of purchase.
The mouse is made in the traditional symmetrical style, thanks to which it has a comfortable grip for both left and right hands, which means it is suitable for both right-handers and left-handers. The dimensions are 126 x 70 x 40 mm.
The weight of the mouse itself is 91 grams, with the cable – 130. The cable length is 1.5 meters.
The non-woven black braided cable does not detach and sticks out of the front of the HIPER GM-2 ROBO. The mouse is connected via a standard USB Type-A connector, and there is a ferrite filter on the cable to prevent interference.
The body of the mouse is made of plastic in silver-black tones. It is strong enough and not easily soiled. If you get it dirty, dirt and grease stains are easily erased.
The part of the mouse under the wrist has a Soft Touch surface, which is very pleasant to the touch. There is also a transparent logo that glows thanks to the built-in illumination, alternating colors.
The right and left buttons are painted in matte silver, just like the front of the mouse. There is also a black embossed surface on the sides for the thumb and little finger. This surface feels comfortable enough during use and does not irritate the skin.
On the sides and back of the case there is a strip of RGB lighting, which also alternately changes color, like the logo on top.
The bottom of the case is made of black plastic. Three glides allow the mouse to move well even on a wooden table surface, even on a special rug. The sensor is located exactly in the middle of the bottom and traditionally glows red.
BUTTONS AND FEATURES
In total, you will find six buttons in the mouse, if you count the built-in wheel.
All buttons are located comfortably under the fingers and are pressed quite easily and without any effort. Clicks sound distinct when pressed. No false double clicks were noticed.
The wheel in the middle has a raised surface that is not annoying when scrolling and pressing. It rotates easily and is almost inaudible when scrolling. Just below there is a DPI switch button for adjusting sensitivity levels. On the left side there are forward and backward buttons.
Hidden under the body is the Instant A704C optical LED sensor, which officially has a maximum resolution of 3200 dpi and a polling rate of 125 Hz. But according to information from the manufacturer, the mouse supports resolutions up to 4800 dpi.
You can switch between the four preset profiles using the DPI button. You only need to successively press the button to select one of the profiles. You can set up profiles using the official HIPER Genome GM-2 application.
The mouse is equipped with Chinese Huano switches, which, according to reviews, are at the Omron level.
SOFT AND TESTING
The application for Hiper GM-2 ROBO is available on the official mouse page on the manufacturer’s website. The program interface is quite simple and is divided into three tabs: buttons, macro and advanced.
The “Buttons” section allows you to assign various functions to all six available mouse buttons, including putting recorded macros on them in the second tab, or, for example, launching the desired application.
The “advanced” section includes settings for pointer precision, wheel scroll speed, and click response time. Also here you can adjust the sensor resolution for four profiles. The most interesting thing is that the maximum sensor resolution can be set at around 7200 dpi, which differs from the maximum 4800 declared by the manufacturer.
Below there are four profiles for different situations – office use, for multimedia and a couple for customization for games. Optionally, you can import and export settings, and reset them completely.
To test the mouse, we used the popular Enotus Mouse Test application, which tests the device in four aspects: resolution, speed, accuracy and smoothness.
In the resolution test, the mouse was tested at four default resolution settings – the results were slightly lower than those stated:
- 1200 dpi mode – 1000 dpi
- 2400 dpi mode – 1800 dpi
- 4800 dpi mode – 3600 dpi
- 7200 dpi mode – 6400 dpi
The best speed indicator was recorded at around 6.77 meters per second, for which the program was rated “Excellent”.
The same can be said about the smoothness test – here we managed to get the same score for the indicator of 0.7%.
The sensor performed slightly worse in the accuracy test, where the mouse was rated “Good” for 96.6%.
TOTAL
Hiper GM-2 ROBO is a budget gaming mouse that demonstrates decent performance in terms of speed, smoothness and accuracy. Add to this good Chinese switches, high-quality case material and assembly. The only thing to scold is the application, which looks clumsy because of the crookedly drawn knobs that do not allow you to select the minimum values without accurately aiming at the desired pixel on the screen, as well as friezes when you reset the settings.
