Review of Dark Nights with Poe and Munro

Company D’Avekki Studios continues to produce FMV-adventures, expanding your universe of unusual characters, starting with The shapeshifting detective and The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker.

New game called Dark Nights with Poe and Munro, talks about Poe and Munroe, who lead a night show on the radio and whisper terrible stories to their few listeners.

Each of the episodes is a separate short story, throwing a bridge with past studio projects or offering references to film classics from Hitchcock before Lynch.

The killer maniac in the studio, time travel, past lives and alternative realities – all this becomes part of the mysterious world of Poe and Munroe.

Each of the episodes suggests making a choice at key moments in the story, which does not always seem obvious.

For example, in one moment you can make up the heroine’s eyelashes or lips, but how this affects the outcome is not entirely clear.

In another place, you are asked to choose which character to open the door to, and at least there are predictable consequences.

Somewhere, the game mechanics look quite logical: you determine the sequence of interrogation of suspects or show feelings for another character.

With limited interactivity compared to previous studio projects, the script level, production and acting look much stronger. Clemens Kering in the role of Po and Leah Cunard in the role of Munroe form the perfect duet, something reminiscent of “Secret Materials”, Only with British humor.

Heroes make fun of each other, flirt and show a full range of emotions, and sometimes Clemens frighteningly plays out the image of a real maniac.

Six half-hour episodes, which suggest several scenarios, and a couple of walkthroughs to understand the story easily drag players into the mysterious world from the local “Twilight Zone”.
