Japanese game designer Tetsuya Nomura talked to the publication Famitsu about the RPG Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin announced earlier this month… The main topics for conversation were the plot component and setting of the future game.
Nomura confirmed that Stranger of Paradise is by no means a direct sequel to the original Final Fantasy released in 1987. New from the studio Team Ninja takes the classic plot as a basis and retells it in a new way – with other events and characters…
The title “Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin”, according to Nomura, maximally speaking… Protagonist Jack (whose name keeps some great secret in itself) enters a world unfamiliar to him, literally speaking “a stranger in paradise“.
“With Jack’s design, we wanted to make it clear that he is not from the Final Fantasy world,” Nomura explained.
The main character is an “angry man”…
“We wanted to make the debut teaser really memorable. Unlike other Final Fantasy games, this project boasts a high age rating (17+ in Japan), so it will offer a more aggressive atmosphere. As a dominant tone, reflecting the Final Fantasy brand. we chose white, but we also added a lot of red to the palette, be it blood or a hue of various crystals. [Stranger of Paradise] lies the story of a very angry man, and through it we tried to convey dark, heavy emotions. “
The game is inspired by the concept of the four Warriors of Light. Not all characters were shown in the teaser, and there will also be professions and types of weapons tied to them.
“In total, we prepared eight types of weapons. The demo did not include a one-handed sword, ax, daggers, katana.”
In addition, Tetsuya Nomura asked fans not to judge the content presented in the demo harshly, as it is far from complete.… For example, the lair of evil Chaos in the full game will look noticeably different. The game designer called on the players who downloaded the demo on Playstation 5, share detailed impressions – they will be used in the course of further development.
The release of Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is due next year. The game is announced for release on PC and all current console systems Playstation and Xbox…
