Horror Resident evil village topped the Japanese retail chart for the week ending May 9, but lost in sales to last year’s remake Resident evil 3which in turn started worse Resident evil 2 (2019) and Resident evil 7 (2018). The statistics were shared by the publication Famitsu…
Most of Resident Evil Village’s launch was in the version for Playstation 4 – owners of this console bought 111,170 copies… Another 38,713 copies purchased by users Playstation 5… Digital sales are not counted.
Resident Evil Village is Japan’s fastest selling PlayStation 5 game…
As shown in the graph below, of the new parts of Resident Evil released over the past ten years, Japanese users most actively bought Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. The latter attracted almost 700 thousand people at the start.
The rest of the weekly chart is made up of regulars on the sales ratings. After Golden Week, demand for most of the previously released games declined. Only the Switch version of the Minecraft sandbox showed an increase of 17% compared to the previous reporting period.
As for consoles, Japan is again short of flagship Switch models (weekly sales dropped from 130k to 40k), and PlayStation 5 remains in short supply since launch.… At the same time, Sony supplies tens of thousands of new generation systems to the country every week, which cannot be said about many other regions, including the Russian one.
