At night, American PlayStation owners were able to try the first stage of the gameplay demo Resident evil village, thanks to which enthusiasts have already been able to conduct tests of the console versions.
Most surprisingly, the main differences between PS4, PS4 Pro, and PS5 are in resolution, load speed, and the ability to enable ray tracing for global illumination and other things in the nextgen version of horror.
Resolution
- PS4 – 900r
- PS4 Pro (HD Mode) – 1080p
- PS4 Pro (4K Mode) – 1800r-4K (checkerboard rendering)
- PS5 – 4K (checkerboard rendering).
- PS4 – 45 to 60 FPS, average about 50-55 FPS depending on the scene
- PS4 Pro (HD Mode) – 60 FPS
- PS4 Pro (4K Mode) – 30-45 FPS
- PS5 (ray traced) – 55-60 FPS
- PS5 (no ray tracing) – 60 FPS.
Surprisingly, all versions of the game run at an unlocked frame rate – there is simply no blocking at 30 FPS.
The difference in downloads is the most surprising:
- PS4 – 46.26 seconds
- PS4 Pro – 33.86 seconds
- PS5 – 1.86 seconds
The rest of the PS5 only slightly better texture filtering and their very quality, although nothing dramatic. Considering all this, it’s even surprising that the eighth part was initially announced only for the new generation consoles – the game works great on PS4.
Resident Evil Village launches May 7 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One and PC.
