Resident Evil 7 Reaches 9 Million, Capcom Has Many New Games

Capcom has provided an update on sales of individual games and series as a whole as of March 31, 2023 in its published report for the past fiscal year.

By the end of the fiscal year Resident Evil 7: Biohazard sold in total over 9 million copies, having added another 500 thousand from December 31. Remakes Resident evil 2 and Resident evil 3 during the same period increased their circulation to 8 million (+200 thousand) and 3.9 million (+300 thousand), respectively, and the total shipments Monster Hunter: World reached 17.1 million (+300 thousand). The company also mentioned 4.85 million sold Monster Hunter: Rise five days after the premiere (in April the figure has already exceeded 6 million).

Series sales:

  • Resident Evil – 110 million
  • Monster Hunter – 72 million
  • Street Fighter – 46 million
  • Mega Man – 36 million
  • Devil May Cry – 23 million
  • Dead Rising – 14 million

In addition to the announced sales, Capcom has outlined its plans for the current fiscal year (April 2023 to March 2023). The company is betting heavily on Resident Evil: Village and Monster Hunter: Rise to achieve record-breaking sales. predicting to realize more 32 million copies of games

Some of this the publisher expects to achieve through continued sales of large back catalog titles as well as the release of 13 new projects by April 2023including the already published Resident Evil: Village and the upcoming July Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. The rest, apparently, are still unannounced games.
