New cartoon “Raya and the last dragon” managed to collect in the world in the first weekend $ 26.2 million.
At the same time, the tape started at the US box office only in third place with $ 8.6 million, although last weekend was the most profitable for local cinemas during the pandemic. The figures are also embarrassing against the backdrop of the success of the Chinese box office, where their own tapes collect much more impressive amounts.
Outside the United States, the painting was able to put into its piggy bank $ 17.6 million. In the Russian box office, “Raya” already has almost 259 million rubles in fees, and the project was headed by the rental of the weekend – followed by a comedy “A couple from the future”, on whose account almost 185 million rubles.
In addition to cinemas, “Raya” was also released in a premiere format on Disney +where users can purchase the cartoon for $ 30. How many viewers decided to evaluate the cartoon at home is unclear.
