Earlier this week in Russian Playstation store the first games appeared with price tags above 4,500 rubles for the base edition. So, for Desperados iii asking for 4,599 rubles, and pre-order Madden NFL 21 and is available at all for 4.899 rubles.
These prices are much higher than those that the audience has become accustomed to in recent years. Most of the major projects from third-party developers were offered at the start for 3,499 – 3,999 rubles, and Sony’s blockbusters are available for 4,499 rubles. Will the rest of the range now go up in price? Should I wait for FIFA 21 for 4,899 rubles at the start? We asked publishers to comment on these questions, but did not receive a clear answer.
- A representative of Electronic Arts, asking for a record 4,899 rubles for the base edition of Madden NFL, declined to comment on the high price and future plans.
- Publisher THQ Nordic, which offered Desperados III for 4,599 rubles, said it did not comment on the recommended retail prices and related decisions of its partners.
- SoftKlab company informed us that it does not have information about price increases for games.
- Finally, the Russian PlayStation team said in a comment on GameMAG.ru that there was no news about price increases on its part.
New projects from third-party developers, pre-orders for which were opened a long time ago, Cyberpunk 2077 in particular, are still available for 3,999 rubles.
