According to Taiwanese newspaper Digitimes, this month Sony plans to start mass production of processors for PS5. Next week, AMD chips will be final tested, and then the manufacturer will send the processors to the customer.
Custom version will be installed in PS5 Zen 2. The eight-core processor will have a frequency of 3.5 GHz and innovations in the field of overclocking. One of the main features of the console will be the dynamic frequency, which, in essence, will provide the system with the ability to choose the frequency of the chip based on its heat dissipation.
DigiTimes writes that production should go into full force by August, and it should be on schedule.
The company updated the official PlayStation 5 page, and the sign about the launch of the console at the end of 2023 disappeared from it. If the Digitimes information is correct and the mass production of chips really starts this summer, then there is no reason for concern – Sony will manage to release the console by the due date.
