Project Oxygen will remind players of the “Martian” and “Planet of the Apes” – Igromania

Some time ago a Polish studio Far from homefounded by people from Techland, announced her debut project under the working title Project oxygen… And now in a conversation with the publication PolskiGamedev.pl the developers have told a number of details about the future game.

Project Oxygen will be an AA + game set in a post-climatic world. Because of her, a cloud of toxic dust enveloped the earth, resembling smog, but at times more harmful. People, trying to survive, climbed higher and higher, and scientists gathered on the highest floors of skyscrapers trying to find a way to save the planet.

All attempts ended in nothing, and hundreds of years later our hero is almost the last survivor. And a hand-built airship helps him to hold out. Players will explore the planet from a first-person perspective.

While the game will inevitably engage in hostile fauna and flora, the focus is on exploration and survival. Since our hero is a scientist, he will cope with the help of various technical devices. As an example, the developers cite Ridley Scott’s film “Martian“.

We will be able to improve and develop our airship, and in a variety of ways – the developers expect that all players will have unique designs. You will also have to take care of protective overalls, since damage to it will lead to poisoning, and then to death.

The world of Project Oxygen will be comprised of both hand-crafted locations and procedurally generated territories. Far From Home is going to actively use sights and memorable places, in the spirit of the Statue of Liberty from “Planets of the apes“.

The studio initially intends to release Project Oxygen in early access. They are equal to the best examples of developer interaction with the community: Subnautica, Raft, Green hell… The developers also do not intend to leave aside the multiplayer part and are already thinking about how to add co-op to the game.

The release date of the game has not yet been announced, and the studio is still in no hurry to publish even screenshots or trailers.
