The box itself does not open from above, but like a casket. First you need to remove 4 seals. Two of them are located on the sides and two more below. After that, you need to put the box on the back, where the advertisement with the Master Chief is depicted, and then take it by the sides and pick it up.
When you open the package for the first time, you feel that they even tried hard on its design. The console is neatly placed in protective cellophane, which is wrapped in a small cardboard with the slogan “Power your dreams”.
To prevent the console from being damaged, it was placed in black textured foam. And the box lid also has external damage protection that fits snugly when the package is closed.
Behind the console in the package is another small box, in which all the accessories are located. Inside you will find: manual with information on warranties and agreements, Ultra High Speed HDMI cable (2.1), network cable and of course new gamepad with a pair of batteries for the first time.
The new joystick turned out to be very pleasant to the touch. The matte surface of the front panel does not stain if you have clean hands.
The gamepad handles have a rough texture, and even if your hands sweat during active play, it is unlikely to pop out of them.
Button Xbox is now flush with the face. As for the innovations, a separate button appeared on the controller “Share this“, Which is located in the middle of the front side of the device and slightly below the already familiar”View“And”Menu”. The crosspiece has also been updated – now it is one-piece and is pressed in all 8 directions.
As for the sounds that swing when you press the sticks, the D-pad and buttons on the front side of the joystick – everything has remained unchanged.
The bumper triggers have also been updated. They have slightly changed their shape and have a nice rough texture. The hammers do not emit sounds when pressed, and the bumpers only give out a quiet, dull click.
There is still a button near the left bumper for connecting the joystick to the console. Location of a long-obsolete connector micro USB this time took USB Type-Cwhich is used for charging the branded battery, wiring and updating the controller. Below you will find a slot for connecting an old headset and a connector 3.5 mm… On the back there is still a battery compartment.
Now let’s move on to the console itself. It is quite heavy. Its weight is approximately 4.4 kg… The body is made of matte plastic, slightly easily soiled, but you can immediately see that the quality is very good.
The console can be placed both vertically and horizontally.
In the vertical position, it stands on a special non-removable round stand, and if you lay the Xbox Series X on its right side, you cannot scratch it, since there are special rubberized legs on the side, located at 4 corners. The console is very stable in any position.
On the front side you will find a power-on unit and an optical drive hole with a button for ejecting a disc. There is a port in the corner USB Type-A and a button for connecting the controller to the console, which also has an infrared sensor for the remote control.
Perforation of the cooling system is located on top of the console. If you look from different angles, you can see that the plastic of the upper part is two-layer, and the lower part is light green, which is clearly visible only at an angle.
It is worth noting that the holes are very large, and something small can easily fall there. So if you have small children at home, then you need to remember this.
On the back are the main ports, cooling system holes and a service sticker. In addition to the power connector, the back includes: output HDMI version 2.1, connector for expanding memory using a special expansion card, Ethernet port and two more slots USB Type-A…
