- Additional colors or design options will not be available at launch for either the disk or digital versions of the console;
- The PlayStation 5, like the Xbox Series, supports the deletion of unnecessary parts of the game to free up memory in the console, but developers must implement this feature themselves;
- With the release of the console, it will not be possible to transfer PS5 games to a USB drive for temporary storage, but the company is considering adding such an option with subsequent firmware;
Set-top box placement guidelines:
- In most cases, the battery life of the DualSense is the same as the DualShock 4. A full charge of the controller is approximately three hours;
- At launch, the DualSense will only be available in white, but other controller colors will be available in the future;
- The PS5 controller is not officially compatible with the PlayStation 4;

- PlayStation Store refunds and cancellations remain the same for PlayStation 5 games;
- Most older PlayStation 4 demos won’t run on PS5;
- The console supports USB and Bluetooth keyboards and mice at the system level, but support for specific games will depend on the developers;
- On the first day, the latest software will be installed on the console. In the future, new firmware versions can be downloaded over the network directly from the PS5 or downloaded updates from the PlayStation website can be installed using a USB drive.
- At launch, the PS5 will support 720p, 1080i, 1080p and 2160p video output. 8K support for related content will be added in a future console software update;
- By default, recorded video is saved at 1080p and 60 FPS. 4K format can be selected when manually saving a clip via the Create button;
- Screenshots can be saved in JPEG or PNG format at 1080p or 4K. Users can also take (and view) HDR screenshots when the PS5 is connected to a high dynamic range display. When exporting or sharing screenshots in HDR, the PS5 will convert them to a standard JPEG image;
- PS5 allows you to use external devices for video capture over HDMI by disabling HDCP in the settings menu;
- PlayStation 5 will officially not have a web browser;
- PS5 games will be playable on PS4, PC and mobile devices via Remote Play.
