PlayStation 5 SSD Expansion Coming This Summer

Edition Bloomberg citing its own sources, reports that the SSD expansion for the PlayStation 5 will be available this summer.

The ability to expand the console’s internal memory using an M.2 slot is currently blocked due to concerns about overheating. but Sony plans to release a firmware update that will increase the rotational speed of the cooling fan.

You can now connect an external storage device to your PS5, but it can only be used to run PS4 games. There is only 667 GB of free space on the internal SSD of the console. Not enough when you consider that Warzone, Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War no longer fit on a 500GB disc of a standard PS4 – but here you have to take into account that PS5 games weigh less.
