Players are asking to add crossplay to Borderlands 3 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 – other platforms get the feature

This week Borderlands 3 received an update that added cross-platform multiplayer to the project, thanks to which the owners of the game on Xbox one, Xbox Series X | S, Mac, Stadia and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) can play together on the same servers.

In turn, the systems Playstation 4 and Playstation 5 left overboard – they have crossplay in Borderlands 3 no and not yet expected

Not everyone is ready to put up with it: on social networks Sony are asked to give the green light to the function and not to restrict the audience.

Earlier, the head of Gearbox, Randy Pitchford, said that his employees added crossplay to Borderlands 3 on all platforms, but at the last moment publisher 2K Games demanded to disable the function on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5

There was no official public information on the exact reasons for this decision, but users believe that 2K and Sony management they simply could not agree because of the additional tax that the Japanese platform holder takes from the developers for activating crossplay. At the same time, the head of PlayStation recently promised “more games with crossplay” on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5

A fresh update for Borderlands 3 has also added a series of bonus content to the project. In particular, a special themed event started in the shooter The Revengence of Revenge of the Cartels
