PlatinumGames showed the first teaser for the new Project G.G. about huge monsters and a giant hero from the creator of Bayonetta

Japanese studio Platinum games released the debut teaser of her new game, codenamed Project G.G., the first information that leaked online this morning. The CGI video demonstrates the attack of a huge monster on a city. The protagonist transforms into a giant and challenges the monster.

Project G.G. will be the first fully owned studio PlatinumGames game. Prior to this, the team worked exclusively for third-party publishers for 14 years.

Developed by Project G.G. Vice President PlatinumGames Hideki Kamiyaknown for creating Resident evil 2, Bayonetta, Devil may cry, Viewtiful joe and The Wonderful 101. The last two were inspired by Japanese superhero films, series and animes, and Project G.G., as you can see from the trailer, too. This game will be the completion of the unofficial “superhero trilogy” from Camia.

The game designer team intends to surprise the fans by creating more than just action. Developers are ready to experiment with weaving elements from other genres into their games.

“Hello everyone! This is Hideki Kamiya. It is my honor to announce today a completely new original project from PlatinumGames.

For many years we dreamed of independently creating and releasing games based on our own intellectual property. Now the studio has finally come to this starting line.

How is the work on this game different from everything else that we did before? Let me explain, and I’m sure you will agree that this is a giant step forward for PlatinumGames!

Throughout our history, we have created a wide variety of games: both related to existing franchises, such as NieR: Automata, and original projects, whether it be Bayonetta or Astral Chain. We managed to gather around us a group of enthusiastic fans who expect high-quality action products from us.

But PlatinumGames continued to remain all this time just a development studio. This means that we just created games and … that’s it. Up to this point, all of our projects have been prepared in collaboration with third-party publishers who financed, published, and distributed them.

Of course, all our employees and I personally are extremely grateful to the partners for their cooperation, thanks to which we were able to make games and establish communication with you. But ultimately all of these games belong to the publishers. Any decisions related to the promotion of our developments, the use of content and so on were completely up to publishers.

As a creative person, it is difficult for me not to think about my games, as if about my own children. Ultimately, to put them on their feet, they need a lot of work, love and care. However, as soon as the work on them is completed, their entire future fate does not depend on me. Sometimes it turns out that people, for example, turn to me with requests in the spirit of “Release a sequel to this game!” or “Port it to another platform!”, but I can’t answer you anything – it’s not in my power.

And now we are smoothly approaching Project G.G. (this, by the way, is just a working title). Project G.G. noticeably different from what we did before. Unlike all our other developments, the new game entirely belongs to Platinum Games – 100%. From setting and characters to game design, plot and everything related to the advertising campaign, PlatinumGames retains full control.

This approach, of course, has some negative aspects. Now we will have to take on many new risks that our team has never faced before. Absolute control over Project G.G. gives us unprecedented creative freedom, but at the same time causes serious responsibility.

But I am sure that we can turn the burden of responsibility on us into motivation, as a result of which we can make Project G.G. great game.

As mentioned earlier, Project G.G. marks a fresh start for us. But to the finish line we are still very, very far away. However, I look forward to the upcoming marathon! I hope you will root for us.

And if you are interested in joining our team, which now has to conquer new heights, then I would sincerely be glad if you read the list of available vacancies. Maybe there you would find a position for yourself.

From the entire Project G.G. development team and everyone at PlatinumGames I want to thank you for your support! “, – says the message of the game designer.

For the production of Project G.G. PlatinumGames management has opened a new studio in Tokyo. It is designed for 100 people, but so far only 15 are working in it.

Game development is now in its early stages.

PlatinumGames wants to release Project G.G. on all relevant platforms.
