Last week the company Microsoft and studio 343 Industries conducted a technical beta test of multiplayer Halo infinite… Owners of the Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles were able to take part in it.
Comparisons of versions have already appeared on the Web, although the final assembly of the shooter may differ significantly from what the testers saw. The results were mixed:
• Xbox one – the resolution ranges from 1120×900 to 1920×1080, image reconstruction up to 1080p is used. Performance is limited to 30 frames per second, however, players may experience incorrect framing.
• Xbox one x – the resolution ranges from 2240×1800 to 3840×2160, image reconstruction up to 4K is used. Performance is limited to 30 frames per second, and players may experience incorrect framing.
• Xbox series s – works in two modes. In the mode 120 fps (the monitor / display must support it) the resolution ranges from 960×540 to 1536×900, but the average falls below 720p. In the mode 60 frames per second the resolution ranges from 1536×900 to 1920×1080, with an average around 1920×1080. In all cases, image reconstruction up to 1080p is used.
• Xbox series x – In mode 120 fps (the monitor / display must support it) the resolution ranges from 1920×1080 to 2240×1440, the average is around 1920×1080. In the mode 60 frames per second the resolution ranges from 2400×1800 to 3840×2160. In all cases, image reconstruction up to 4K is used.
Xbox Series X | S support technology Variable Rate Shading, which sometimes causes large pixels to be visible. In addition, two graphics modes will be available on Xbox Series X and Xbox One X: Performance and Quality… The selection function did not work during CBT.
Players note that shadow resolution is higher on Xbox Series X. Shading quality (Ambient occlusion) is better on Xbox Series X and Xbox One X. The Xbox Series X | S version also boasts fast downloads.
The main outsider is the Xbox One version. To optimize, 343 Industries had to lower the quality of textures and reflections.
It should be noted that in Halo 5 the developers were able to achieve stable 60 frames per second, while in Halo infinite owners of Xbox One and Xbox One X were subjected to a kind of “personnel” discrimination (30 frames per second versus 60/120 on the next generation consoles).
