The previous record was set exactly one year ago, in March 2023. At that time, Rainbow Six Siege lacked just under 700 players to reach the 200,000 concurrent player mark.
The rise in popularity of Rainbow Six Siege this week has been driven by Operation Crimson Heist (one of the main innovations being the operative Flores), as well as a free weekend that will last until March 25.
