Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time reached number one in the UK sales charts last week. Platformer bypassed Star Wars: Squadrons, but the gap was only one thousand discs.
Compared to Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy, a new game in the series launched in retail 80% worse, and of the total sold circulation, 82% of sales fell on the PlayStation 4, the rest – Xbox One… As for Star Wars: Squadrons, its starting numbers were 72% lower than last year’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. At the same time, it should be borne in mind that due to the pandemic, sales on physical media have naturally dropped down over the past six months in comparison with the growth of digital downloads.
Approximate starting sales:
- Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time – 26,000 (Xbox One, PS4);
- Star Wars Squadrons – 25,000 (Xbox One, PS4);
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order – 89,000 (Xbox One, PS4);
- Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy – 130,000 (PS4).
The only other new game in the top 40 was Untitled Goose Game, which debuted at 34th place. The first number of the rating of previous reports – Super Mario 3D All-Stars – dropped to the 3rd line, while Marvel’s avengers fell from 2nd to 5th place. Remake Mafia and the Trilogy compilation are still in the top ten at 9th and 10th places, respectively, but they probably won’t stay long in it against the background of the release of many new games in the coming weeks, including FIFA 21…
