Interestingly, the journalists who tested the new console confirmed that back at the end of October P.T. worked on PlayStation 5 for backward compatibility without any problemsbut a few days before the embargo was lifted, the game began to appear in the PS5 Library menu as “Playable on PS4” and will no longer launch on the new console.
In a comment for Polygon, a company representative Sony reported that P.T. was blocked “by the decision of the publisher”… Technically, the game can work on the PlayStation 5, as the journalists were convinced of this, but Konami didn’t want to leave fans access to the project on the new console.
