Oppo recently received a patent for the technology it will use in its wearable devices. The Chinese company has registered the ability to unlock with veins, a kind of evolution in the field of biometric security systems.
Oppo filed an application in 2019 and was recently approved. According to the description, the technology works like face or fingerprint recognition – sensors scan the veins of users and provide access to a watch or fitness tracker.
Notably, Oppo’s feature is reminiscent of LG’s Hand ID system, which also recognized the thickness and characteristic lines of blood ducts on the wearers’ hands and opened access to the device.
