One developer’s “manual” adventure Papetura is out on Steam – Igromania

For seven years, Krakow’s lone game designer Tomasz Ostafin, known as Petums, worked on the game Papetura… Moreover, the author literally worked by hand: everything that we see on the screen was cut out of paper, glued and filmed using a freeze frame.

Today Papetura is out in Steam and GOG… The game can be bought during the week with a release discount, for only 260 rubles.

The main character of the game, the paper creature Pape, ends up in a flower prison. Having escaped from there, he meets the magic baby Tura. Together they decide to challenge the monsters that can burn their paper world. And this story is told to us without a single word.

The music for the game was written by Thomas Dvorak, aka Floex: we hear his creations in most games Amanita Design… The composer decided to work on Papetura, despite the fact that the game’s campaign for IndieGoGo failed, which means that Petums did not have money to pay for his work.
