May 13 Epic Games officially unveiled Unreal engine 5 and showed a technical demonstration of the engine for Playstation 5. One of the ResetEra users decided to compare the new demo with the ones released in 2016 and 2017 Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy for ps4.
Topikstarter noted in the comments that the comparison was carried out using Uncharted screenshots found on the vast network of the network and UE5 photos captured in 4K using Vimeo.
Although the author tried to find a good angle, the screenshots show that both projects are very different. Especially considering the fact that the comparison was a technical demonstration, which developers are trying to impress and make the picture as good as possible, and a real game for tens of hours of gameplay.
The user notes that it will be interesting to compare the current and next generation AAA projects in the future. However, now we can take a look at what prospects are opening up for developers using the new hardware.
