During a meeting with reporters, the president of the group CD Projekt Adam Kichinsky reported that after the release Cyberpunk 2077 the company will take up another game in the world “The witcher“. This writes the Polish edition Eurogamer.
“We are already working on the next single-player game and have reached a relatively clear concept that awaits further development. […] Immediately after the development of Cyberpunk 2077 is completed, we are going to take on the next title. We have two worlds in which we want to create games, so all the projects currently planned are related to either The Witcher or Cyberpunk. “
Cyberpunk 2077 has recently been delayed until mid-September, so full work on the next project in the Witcher universe will begin to boil no earlier than this time. At the same time, Kichinsky emphasized that the new part of the franchise will not receive the number “4” in the name and is now developing in pre-production by a small team. Two more are engaged in network mode and post-release content for Cyberpunk 2077. There are no other details about the project at the moment.
Development can take about four years.
During a conversation with the press, Kichinsky also recalled the new agreement reached at the end of last year with Andrzej Sapkowski. Top manager CD Projekt assured that between the studio and the writer “there was a 180 degree rotation”, strengthening their relationship with each other.
