Early stages of RPG production Cyberpunk 2077 developers from the studio CD Projekt RED actively discussed the idea of implementing a romantic line with Goro Takemura. Several testers actively asked to add such a scenario at once, but ultimately the idea did not find its full implementation.
O “buried“romance with Takemura in”Cyberpunk“in a recent webcast, the senior quest designer told CD Projekt RED Pavel Sasko…
“Regarding Takemura’s question, I can tell you a little about how we ourselves looked at this idea. Even in the early stages of development, the topic of creating an appropriate romantic line was raised. The testers were interested – did we forget to add it to the game? Then they actively discussed how the idea was. but ultimately we came to the decision that due to the peculiarities of the [роман] just doesn’t add up. It seemed like it would feel inorganic. And not all players like Takemura, after all, he still served Saburo. And even though such a novel on paper may sound interesting, we as designers simply did not find a place for it in the global plot, “explained Pavel Sasko.
In addition, the developers at CD Projekt RED have also considered introducing other romance lines, including full-length romances with characters such as Victor and Meredith Stout. But the scriptwriters also abandoned these plans – they did not want to turn the game into a banal “dating simulator”.
“Our main goal was to create a game of the highest quality. It is simply impossible to implement romantic lines with all the characters at once, because in this case the project would turn into a series of dates and love stories that could be launched at any time, and it would feel a little strange”, – explained Pavel Sasko.
Recall that the release of Cyberpunk 2077 took place in December last year on Playstation 4, Xbox one and PC… Now, additional game content is in production, as well as full-fledged versions for new generation consoles.
