No streaming: James Bond films will continue to hit theaters despite MGM’s Amazon merger

After Amazon announced the purchase of the studio Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, which owns the rights to the James Bond films, some have suggested that the future of 007 will now be tightly connected with the streaming service. Amazon Prime Video… As it turned out, this is not the case.

The statement came from the producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael J. Wilson from Danjaq LLC, which jointly with MGM control the rights to Bond, production and key franchise decisions. According to the duo, they intend to continue making James Bond films for the world theater audience.

Earlier it became known that all MGM films scheduled for release this year together with the distributor United Artists Releasing, are reliably protected from moving to streaming. Apparently, if future episodes of the series will appear on Prime Video, it will only be some time after the theatrical release.
