Portal Windows central following the recent news of Jason Schreier on the development of two next-generation Xbox disclosed the technical specifications of both consoles.
As expected, the budget version for bare power produces about the same teraflops as the PS4 Pro – that is, it is noticeably weaker than the Xbox One X.
Xbox Lockhart – the budget version (similar to the Xbox One S)
- 3.5 GHz octa-core processor
- 16 GB RAM:
- 13 GB allocated for games
- 3 GB for the operating system
- bare performance – 4 teraflops.
Xbox Scarlett Premium Edition (Analogous to Xbox One X)
- 3.5 GHz octa-core processor
- 16 GB RAM:
- 13 GB allocated for games
- 3 GB for the operating system
- bare performance – 12 teraflops.
The console will be able to compensate for the small increase in RAM (on the Xbox One X, for example, 12 GB, 9 of which are for the needs of games) with the ability to create virtual RAM thanks to the SSD – the base storage of the new consoles.
Windows Central also notes that playing with Xbox One with dynamic settings will work “out of the box” better on the new Xbox.
For example, in Monster hunter: world unlocked frame rate, but even on the Xbox One X, 60 FPS is rarely achieved. At Scarlet, this frame rate will be easily achieved without any special updates.
