When designing Playstation 5 the engineers paid great attention to possible heating problems. Based on the feedback from the owners, Sony did manage to create a fairly quiet and cool console, but since there is no limit to the imagination and dedication of fans, there were those who decided to make the world’s first water-cooled PS5.
This engineering feat was shared by enthusiasts from the Vietnamese canal Modding Cafeby publishing a series of videos detailing how one of its creators, Nhenhophach, re-engineered the standard PlayStation 5, replacing the original console design with a custom wing plate cabinet with a fully functioning water cooling system…
Although the tests of the first iteration showed that the custom solution works very efficiently and the temperature does not exceed 53.5 degrees compared to the peak value in 65 degrees standard PlayStation 5, the team is about to make improvements to the current design and start releasing a commercial version… There are also plans to integrate a water-cooled PS5 into one of the PC builds.
