A new part of stealth platformers Sly cooper is in development, according to a well-known insider.
This was told by the host of the podcast XboxEra Nick Baker In a post on Reddit discussing an already deleted post from 4chan. A screenshot or copy of the post has not survived, but judging by the title of the topic, the rumor indicated that Sucker Punch Productions was allegedly doing something with the Sly Cooper series now.
In the comments to the post, Baker wrote that he had heard something similar. According to his own sources, a “certain” studio does indeed create Sly Cooper 5, But it is not Sucker punch, and who exactly is unknown…
“I think Sucker Punch would be the most logical option. But they keep telling me it’s not them.”
The Sly Cooper series is a mixture of platforming and stealth action, the main characters of which are the raccoon thief Sly Cooper and his gang of friends, living in a world inhabited by the same anthropomorphic animals. The franchise includes three games from Sucker Punch that came out on PS2 from 2002 to 2005, as well as the fourth part of Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time 2013 for PS3 / PS Vita, which was already created by the third-party team Sanzaru Games (now owned by Facebook). Also, on the same platforms, a collection was released with a reissue of the original trilogy.
Several years ago, Sony announced and even showed a trailer for the upcoming cartoon for the franchise, which it later canceled. Later, they wanted to make an animated series based on his work, but this project also quietly closed as a result.
