Creative director of the studio Naughty dog confirmed on Twitter another important detail regarding the upcoming series based on The last of us from HBO. The music for the show will be officially written by the composer of the original game and the upcoming sequel Gustavo Santaolaglia.
The series was announced last week, but work on it will only begin after Naughty Dog completes The Last of Us: Part IIthat is, not earlier than summer. This was told by a co-author of television adaptation Craig Mazin while recording a podcast Scriptnotes.
“We have been discussing the project for several months, making plans and all that, but we will seriously deal with it as soon as they finish the last part of their work on the sequel. I hope that more interesting news will come soon on this front, since we are both interested in the appearance of the television adaptation.”
Initially, the adaptation of The Last of Us was supposed to be a full-length film, however, Mazin did not see any prospects in this and believed that the correct adaptation would be possible only in the format of the series.
“Duration is important here, because it is about developing relationships over a long journey. I saw this story only in the format of a television show and, fortunately, Neil agreed with me. HBO was delighted, and here we are.”
The other day, Neil Drackmann confirmed the first wave of characters from The Last of Us, which will appear in the series. At the same time, it is already known that Ellie will remain a lesbian in the show.
