Company Daybreak Games (H1Z1, Planetside 2) announced acquisition Cold iron studios – a team from the city of San Jose, which is currently working on the creation of a still unnamed MMO-shooter in the universe “Strangers“.
This January Daybreak Games reported about restructuring their development teams as part of the initiative Franchise first… Thus, for the development of the most important Daybreak franchises such as DC Universe Online, EverQuest and Planetside now answer Dimensional Ink Games, Darkpaw games and Rogue Planet Games respectively.
In its turn Cold iron studios passes from one owner to another for the fourth time. The studio was founded by veterans of Cryptic Studios in 2015. In 2018, she moved under the Fox wing. Some time later, in March 2019, the developers as part of the FoxNext gaming division moved to Disney, and already in January of this year, a deal was made with Scopely.
After merging with Daybreak Games development team Cold iron studios will continue to develop an unnamed game based on “Aliens”, while one of its founders will continue to lead the studio Craig Zinkevich… As stated, the new owners will in no way influence the development of the new MMO-shooter, but will only act as a publisher providing marketing, technical and operational support.
More details on the upcoming shooter based on “Aliens” not yet. Currently Cold iron studios looking for an employee for the position of a gameplay engineer on consoles, who will have to develop new features and mechanics on the engine Unreal Engine 4… It is likely that the team primarily focuses on the current generation of consoles when creating the game.
