Netflix decided to renew the series for a second season Outer Shoals, the first season of which was released on the service on April 15.
The service notes that the first season’s viewing rates were very successful, which led to an extension of the drama. Set in North Carolina, it follows a group of friends who have to make a series of dangerous decisions when a hurricane cuts off electricity right in the middle of the summer season.
In addition, the main character is trying to find his disappeared father, and the group itself is actively looking for some hidden treasure.
There is no exact date for the premiere of the second season yet.
