Narita Boy’s neo-retro metroidvania coming out in March – review addiction

Studio Koba and Team17 have announced the release date of the adventure platformer Narita boydedicated to the retro arcades of the 1980s. The game will be released on March 30 on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. From day one, it will be available on Xbox Game Pass.

Narita Boy’s story began in 2017 when the game was successfully played Kickstarter… Its creators promised an adventure in the spirit Castlevania and Another world, but with modern mechanics as in Superbrothers: Sword And Sorceryand this helped them raise 160 thousand euros.

The game is set in the 1980s. The talented game designer released his own console, Narita One, complete with his own game, Narita Boy, and they became a real sensation. And this success has put the Digital Kingdom at risk.

The main character Narita Boy falls into a digital trap, and now he is just an echo of his own self. But in his hands is the legendary Technome sword, and only he is able to cope with the evil that invaded the game world.

The game is stylized as action movies from the 1980s, with hand-drawn animations, an appropriate soundtrack, and lots of references to the mass culture of those times.
