Multinational Azeroth: Blizzard has promised to add more black characters to World of Warcraft

Company Blizzard Entertainment revealed a new expansion feature Shadowlands for the popular MMORPG World of warcraft at an event for the Western press.

It turned out, in particular, that together with the launch Shadowlands characters inhabiting Azerothwill become more racially and ethnically diverse. In other words, at the locations of the game, the audience will noticeably more often meet heroes with dark skin tones.

As an example, the developers presented updated NPCs in Stormwind:

At the same time, skin color is far from the only change that will affect Npc… The expanded hero customization extends to other characters around the world. Thus Blizzard hopes to endow the inhabitants of the virtual universe with a large number of unique features.

“We are the guardians of this fantasy universe, this world built by our hands. We do not want to abandon the changes that are right today, tying ourselves by hand with creative decisions made in a completely different cultural background fifteen years ago,” comments Blizzard on its decision to increase racial diversity in World of Warcraft.

Running World of Warcraft: Shadowlands will take place 27th October
