Manufacturer Msi obviously decided to follow the course Biostar. He introduced a motherboard that combines both modern and old components. But it is unlikely to be able to be used normally for retrogaming.
New MS-98L9 equipped with a relatively modern Intel H110 chipset and supports operation with processors up to Kaby lake-s and Skylake-s. It has a first-generation LGA 1151 socket, as well as two DDR4-2400 memory slots up to 32 GB in size.
But the set of other interfaces is amazing. The board has:
Two PCI Express x16 expansion slots (one works in PCI Express x4 mode)
Five PCI slots
One ISA slot
In addition, there are two soldered COM ports on the rear panel, four more can be connected on the board itself. Other ports include:
VGA and HDMI (works when the processor has a video core)
Two network ports with Intel gigabit controllers
Four USB 3.1 Gen 1
Two USB 2.0 and three more on the board
PS / 2 Combo Port
Sound outputs
Four SATA 3 ports on the board for connecting drives
Among the supported systems are declared:
Windows 7 / 8.1 / 10
