Since 2018, the creators of the updated Tiberian dawn and Red alert They share with the community various information about the production process of updated versions. Today, developers again reminded of one of the remasters, paying attention to in-game FMVto the rollers and the story of how they will appear in Command & Conquer: Remastered.
In a published video producer EA Jim Vesella shared a story about his trip to Los Angeles, whose goal was to find original FMVclassic parts video Command & Conquer. Unfortunately, the searches were unsuccessful – only low-quality files in the resolution of 320×200 pixels, extracted directly from the games, were preserved in the company’s archives.
After discussing the situation with the community, Jim settled on the only available solution, the essence of which was to improve existing videos using artificial intelligence algorithms. As a result of the use of AI, the developers managed to increase the resolution to the maximum possible without loss of clarity, raise the frame rate with fifteen before 30 FPS and make the audio line cleaner. Moreover, according to Jim, a bonus section will appear in Command & Conquer: Remastered with recently found alternative versions of videos, previously unused tracks, concept art and other materials. The campaign itself will also have additional cinematic inserts that were initially present only in the version for PS1.
