As notes Gamesindustry.bizIn 2019, in England, the total physical sales of games fell by almost 20% compared to 2018. In addition, last week marked the end of the era for the English retail chart.
Unlike the GfK chart, GSD charts will account for retail sales in 42 territories of the EMEAA region (Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Australia) and digital sales of publishers such as Activision Blizzard, Bandai namco, Capcom, Codemasters, EA, Focus home interactive, Koch media, Microsoft, Milestone, Paradox, Sega, Sony, Square enix, Take-two, Ubisoft and Warner bros.
Starting this week, the British Association for Interactive Entertainment will begin to use GSD data for the official charts of retail and digital sales in England.
