After success Marvel’s spider-man it is obvious to everyone that Sony will continue to develop the created universe, but so far the development of the sequel remains at the level of conversation. Recently on Reddit someone supposedly having a source inside Insomniac games shared a bunch of possible details Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
- The announcement will take place this year with a subsequent release on Christmas Day 2023;
- The continuation action will unfold again in Manhattan from the first part, but the map will be expanded with several new areas, such as Queens and Brooklyn. Some events will occur in the winter;
- Oscorp will again play an important role in the plot. One of the central themes of history may be cloning;
- The gallery of Spider-Man’s enemies will expand. The game will appear Venom, Green Goblin, Carnage, Mysterio, Lizard, Cardiac and several other villains;
- There will be hints of the great Marvel universe;
- Miles Morales will become an integral part of the story, continuing to learn from Spider Peter Parker, who is still the central character. As in the first part, Miles will have his playable episodes, but in comparison with Peter, the spider abilities and fighting style of Morales are slightly different;
- Flash Thompson, Harry Osborne, Ben Urich, Aaron Davis, Eddie Brock and other characters from the original game will return in the sequel.
- One of the features of the sequel will be a system of random crimes. For example, a bank robbery may occur, but each time it will differ in the location of enemies, the style of battle (stealth or traditional), types of opponents, different combat plans, mini targets, and so on.
- A lot of work has been done to improve the engine. Photogrammetry is used;
- Like the first part, the sequel does not follow 100% of the plots of the original comics. In this regard, Insomniac Games received creative freedom and is free to develop the story and characters at its discretion.
