Microsoft will support Edge browser on Windows 7 for another year

Browser Microsoft edge became the second most popular web browser in the world a few months after the release. And therefore, the question of its support on the outdated Windows 7 OS was inevitably ripe. However, the developers from Redmond were quick to reassure users – the browser will work on the “seven” and other old OSs until July 15, 2023.
The list of operating systems includes:
Windows 7
Windows 8.1
Windows 10 (1709 and LTSC)
Windows Server 2008 R2
Windows Server 2012
The company said that Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 themselves are no longer supported, so it is recommended to upgrade them to the latest versions. Microsoft also said that the browser provides protection on the Internet, but the lack of support for the operating system can be dangerous.
The developers also noted that for the full operation of the compatibility mode with Internet Explorer, users must be members of the Extended Security Updates program. This applies to those who have not yet upgraded from Windows 7.
