Yesterday we reported that Microsoft plans to launch Windows 10X as a counterpart to Chrome OS with a focus on web applications. Now it has become known that the company may switch to a new update scheme.
As you know, Windows 10 now receives two major patches annually – in the spring and fall. But this may reportedly be revisited in the future. According to the source, starting in 2023, only Windows 10X will be updated in the spring, and Windows 10 in the fall.
We are talking specifically about major updates. Minor monthly and cumulative patches will continue to be released. In any case, so far nothing has been reported about changes in this plan.
