Gamepad in the new console Xbox Series X will work on finger batteries, as in the current model. Xbox Affiliate Program Director Jason Ronald Explains Why Microsoft decided to do so.
According to him, there is a significant proportion of users who want the controller to work on batteries, because they are cheaper and do not require a charging unit. For those who want a battery, you can use rechargeable batteries of the appropriate form factor. This is implemented in the controller Elite.
At the same time, Ronald noted that the use of batteries can increase the life of the gamepad. Unlike DualShock 4, which uses a standard battery, the batteries are easy to replace if necessary.
On the other hand, the quality of the batteries varies depending on the manufacturer, because often they can simply “not pull” the controller.
