Company Microsoft shared in the blog Xbox wire statistics for 2023 by games from the internal division Xbox Game Studios:
- Xbox Game Studios has released a dozen and a half games this year, ten of which are brand new. The list includes the upcoming Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, Battletoads, Bleeding Edge, Gears Tactics, Grounded, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary for PC, Halo 2 Anniversary for PC, Halo 3 for PC, Halo 3: ODST for PC, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Minecraft Dungeons, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, The Bard’s Tale Remastered and Wasteland 3. There are many other projects in the works. The company calls it a true Xbox record;
- Total users spent 1.66 billion hours playing games, which is also an absolute record so far;
- Microsoft Flight Simulator scored 92 on Metacritic – XGS’s most highly rated PC game this year;
- On Xbox consoles, Ori and the Will of the Wisp got the highest score with an average of 90/100 on Metacritic;
- Obsidian’s new game – survival adventure Grounded – attracted over a million gamers in record time, and Sea of Thieves surpassed the 15 million mark;
- Microsoft Flight Simulator players have logged over 26 million flights and have flown over a billion miles. This is, on average, 15 times more than real pilots made daily for the entire 2019. The number of miles is enough to fly around the entire Earth more than 40 thousand times;
- Over the past two months, Minecraft Dungeons has had more than 6.9 million multiplayer sessions, and almost two-thirds of them (4.4 million) were in co-op;
- Over 500 million bugs have been crushed in Grounded. This is just 0.000000000005% of over 10 quintillion insects in the real world;
Xbox Marketing Head Aaron Greenberg called the current year great and expects even more success when they launch on November 10 Xbox series x and Xbox series s… He also noted that the line of games for new consoles will be the largest in the history of the platform – already at the launch, gamers will be able to immerse themselves in thousands of adventures from all four generations, in addition to which the company is preparing a huge number of yet unannounced games.
