Media reports that a new film of the series has been launched in development Scream.
The directors of the new version will perform Matthew Bettinelli and Tyler gillett (“I’m going to search”), and Spyglass Media is responsible for the overall production. Earlier, the rights to the franchise belonged to the Weinstein brothers’ company, but they were purchased in 2018.
The first film of the series was released in 1996, its director was Wes Craven (“A Nightmare on Elm Street”), and Kevin Williamson was responsible for the script.
Whether the new tape will continue the familiar story or reboot is unclear. According to rumors, the plot will tell about a woman investigating a series of brutal murders in her hometown.
