“Master Chief’s Father” on the reasons for leaving Bungie: Crunches could last months and months

Former creative director Halo Marcus Lehto, who is called one of the “fathers of Master Chief”, spoke about the reasons that prompted him to leave the studio Bungie and go for free bread. Now the developer is working in the studio V1 Interactive over shooter Disintegration.

As Lehto explained, many of V1 Interactive’s current employees at their old workplaces were faced with the negative effects of the so-called crunch period, when the team enters the process of constant processing to finish the game, which can last for weeks or months.

Therefore, when working on Disintegration, the studio intends not to repeat such an experience, creating a more favorable atmosphere. Management’s priority is to empower employees to spend more time with family and children.

“Everyone is closely connected with the project we are working on, so everyone has a great responsibility,” Lehto added.

Earlier it became known that the closed beta stage of Disintegration will be held from January 29 to 30, 2023, and the open – from January 31 to February 1, 2023. The game client in English will be provided in Steamas well as Xbox one and Ps4.
